Special request from my wife for a two level serving tray.
The wood is oak from three different sources and the
finish is epoxcy resin to make it water proof.

This one is the re-work of the one below. I didn't like its design so three years later I decided to change it. The wood was dryer and thus harder to work on.
The coating is epoxy resin this time.
Remains of the German wallnut with natural edge, chainsaw marks, and cracks. Couldn't bring myself to throw it away!
I don't know the wood but it was very hard to turn. Also I had to cut the corners off so I could get it onto the lath - one is now a separate candle holder
Another cake-stand. This German walllnut is wonderful to work on,
no voids this time, just a few minor cracks that I filled.
Walnut from Germany. A void uncovered during turning, so a practical option was to fill it with resin.

Every wood lends itself to an object, offcuts of kitchen worktop are no exception.

The wife wanted taller stand if she was going to bake cake to serve on it, yes ma'am...!
