Now I have three of them made. Size of each relates to the size of the tree trunk I had to work with, and a little more exaggeration in the curves each time. I also hollowed the centre of trunk to reduce weight.

Turning a stool would require a very large tree trunk to be mounted on the lathe. With the vibration that an unbalanced wood would create, the only option is to do in sections and glue them together and then finalise the shape. In this case the base, middle, and top sections glued together, but the top and base are also multi-segment.
And here is the finished product. The design is borrowed from an item I came across in a close family's home.
I like this shape so much that now this is the fourth one...! No idea about the wood but its white and very heavy.
Myself prefer a simple design, with the edge of the seat curved down so you can just pick it up with one hand
Almost the same design as above, well..., not quite yet! Make a good present for someone.
First attempt at the design, from memory. What seen and what remembered...! Already given away as present.
